Andrea Corr

Singer and actress Andrea Corr is best known as a recording artist and member of the Celtic family folk group The Corrs, which also featured her siblings Jim, Sharon, and Caroline. However, she was acting even before the beginning of The Corrs. In 1991, she won a role in "The Commitments," Alan Parker's drama about a Irish soul band. Corr would spend much of the next fifteen years writing, recording, and touring with The Corrs, eventually gaining international success. She still acted when the right opportunity arrived, though, including teaming with Parker again on his adaptation of the romantic musical "Evita," starring Madonna, played Juan Peron's mistress. Corr received her next role due to her great voice, as she providing the singing for the character Kayley in the family fantasy animated movie "Quest for Camelot" in 1998. In the 2000s, Corr spent further time focusing on her acting. For her role in the lighthearted Irish comedy "The Boys & Girl from County Clare," she received a number of accolades, including a nomination for an Irish Film and Television Award. In 2007, she starred in the suspenseful "Broken Thread." Although this film did not see wide release, Corr continued to pursue her acting. After The Corrs went on hiatus in 2006, Andrea released two solo albums, "Ten Feet High" in 2007 and "Lifelines" in 2011, while also acting in select roles on stage and screen.
