Dayton Callie

Dayton Callie was born in Dumbarton, Scotland, and didn't make his acting debut until his late 30s in the low-budget film "Preppies" (1984). This was the start of a succession of small roles on TV series including "Kate & Allie" (CBS, 1984-89), "Beauty and the Beast" (CBS, 1987-90) and "Falcon Crest" (CBS, 1981-1990). In the following decade, he mixed film work in successful movies including "To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar" (1995) and "Volcano" (1997) with appearances in "Seinfeld" (NBC, 1989-1997), "NYPD Blue" (ABC, 1993-2005) and a recurring role in "Roswell" (The WB/UPN, 1999-2002). However it was a regular part in "Deadwood" (HBO, 2004-06), bringing to life Wild Bill Hickok's associate Charlie Utter, that was Callie's highest profile role to date. This lead to a series of memorable guest appearances including a three-episode story arc in "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (CBS, 2000-2015) and a recurring role in "John From Cincinnati" (HBO, 2007). His next major role was as Chief Wayne Unser in biker drama "Sons of Anarchy" (FX, 2008-2014), alongside horror movie "Halloween II" (2009) and voicing a character in animated comedy "Archer" (FX, 2009-).
