Dianne Doan
Born in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Dianne Doan's first on stage experiences came after her mother signed her up for dance at age 10. After graduating from high school, Doan moved to Vancouver and immersed herself in the diverse dance world that had developed there. In addition to performing in local dance troupes, she made appearances in music videos and in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The same year, she appeared as a dancer on "So You Think You Can Dance: Canada" (CTV, 2008-2011), and made her first appearance on American television in an episode of "Tower Prep" (Cartoon Network, 2010). Her first wide exposure in America was an appearance on "Once Upon A Time" (ABC, 2011-), in 2013. Her first leading role was in "Descendants" (Disney Channel, 2015), a TV movie that followed the descendants of some of the more famous heroes from Disney's animated films. Doan played Lonnie, the confident and headstrong daughter of Mulan and Li Shan. The movie was successful, and Disney announced a sequel soon after it aired. In 2015 it was announced that Doan would play an important new character on the hit History Channel Show "Vikings" (History Channel, 2013-).
