Frank Shannon

Frank Shannon was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Shannon's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Boomerang Bill" (1922), "Monsieur Beaucaire" (1924) and "The Eagle's Brood" (1935). He also appeared in "Flash Gordon" (1936) with Buster Crabbe, the Fred MacMurray western "The Texas Rangers" (1936) and "Affairs of Cappy Ricks" (1937). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "Torchy Blane: The Adventurous Blonde" (1937), "Blondes at Work" (1938) and the Buster Crabbe sci-fi motion picture "Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars" (1938). He also appeared in "Torchy Blane in Panama" (1938), "Torchy Gets Her Man" (1938) and "Torchy Blane in Chinatown" (1939). In the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in "Torchy Plays With Dynamite" (1939), "Torchy Runs For Mayor" (1939) and the sci-fi feature "Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe" (1940) with Buster Crabbe. He also appeared in "The Return of Frank James" (1940) with Henry Fonda and "The Phantom" (1944). Shannon more recently acted in the mystery "Crack-Up" (1946) with Pat O'Brien. Shannon passed away in February 1959 at the age of 85.
