Jake Choi

An accomplished athlete as well as actor, Jake Choi was born in Elmhurst, New York. After serving as co-captain and starting point guard for his high school basketball team, Choi was offered an athletic scholarship to attend Yonsei University in South Korea. While enrolled there, he played college basketball and was eventually noticed by a talent manager, who thought Choi's effervescent personality on the court would make him a successful on-air personality. On the manager's recommendation, he auditioned to host a Korean cooking show called "Cuisine Tour," and beat out 450 other hopefuls for the job. After eight months with the series, Choi eventually returned to the United States and continued his career on-screen, widening his horizons to become an actor as well. After studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Choi booked his first role on American TV, appearing on an episode of "Mysteries at the Museum" (Travel Channel, 2010-). He would go on to make guest appearances on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999-) and "Unforgettable" (CBS, 2011-16), as well as roles in movies like the sports drama "Wolves" (2016). In 2018, Choi landed the recurring role of Tetsuya on the acclaimed HBO series "Succession" (HBO, 2018-).
