Jeannie Mai

American television personality Jeannie Mai was born in San Jose, California. She's of Chinese-Vietnamese descent and started her career as a makeup artist. This led her to working with celebrities, and for independent television stations, as well as the show "Total Request Live" (MTV, 1998-2008). She eventually transitioned to a hosting position, and later became an entertainment reporter and producer for "The Daily Mixx" (WB, 2002-06). Mai went on to primetime hosting positions on MTV, E!, Lifetime, TLC and NBC, becoming well-known for starring in "How Do I Look" (Style, 2004-12). She would later become a host for Miss Universe pageants and serve as stylist consultant and fashion correspondent to a number of other shows, including "The Real" (Syndication, 2012-22). For her work, Mai won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.
