Mario
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mario Barrett, known mononymously as Mario, is an American R&B singer and songwriter. At 14, Mario signed a record deal with J Records and released his self-titled debut album in 2002. His second album, "Turning Point," was released on December 7, 2004. Mario starred as Miles Darby in "Step Up" (2006). Mario's third album, "Go," was dedicated to his mom and was released in South Africa under Gallo Records on October 9, 2007. In 2008, Mario competed on season 6 of "Dancing With the Stars." He was partnered with Karina Smirnoff. In January 2009, Mario became the face of Pelle Pelle's European Spring/Summer campaign. On May 17, 2013, Mario confirmed that he had been working with Polow Da Don on the single, "Somebody Else," featuring rapper Nicki Minaj. The second single "Fatal Distraction" was released on September 10, 2013. On July 20, 2018, Mario released "Drowning." Mario released the single "Closer," on April 24, 2020.
