Neil Maskell

Neil Maskell is an English actor probably best known for his lead role in the 2011 horror thriller "Kill List." In the film, Maskell plays an ex-soldier, Jay, who returns home and joins his friend Gal to work as a hitman so that he can financially support his family. One job in particular, though, goes seriously weird and Jay finds himself in a very harrowing situation that gets increasingly worse. The film was widely seen in Britain as a return to a truly scary, more realistic style of horror and Maskell's performance was specifically singled out for its naturalism. Maskell and "Kill List"'s director, Ben Wheatley, had worked together before on the sketch comedy television program "The Wrong Door." Television work has been a big part of Maskell's focus over the years, and he's appeared in several episodes of the crime show "The Bill," medical drama "Casualty," and an episode of "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries." He made his feature film debut in Gary Oldman's directorial debut, the hard-hitting kitchen sink drama "Nil by Mouth." He's also appeared in supporting roles in the soccer hooligan tale "The Football Factory," in the thriller sequel "Basic Instinct 2," and in the horror comedy "Doghouse."
