Andy and Nick return to 15 Division to find things very different than how they left them six months ago. But Andy’s first day back on regular duty is anything but ‘regular’. She comes upon an armed robbery-in-progress which forces her to work with newly promoted Detective Sam Swarek. The investigation soon puts Andy and Swarek on the trail of a violent ex-convict who is determined to get his old life back at any cost. Meanwhile, Nick and Gail help a distraught woman, who offers a bit of perspective for Nick who is trying to make amends with Gail for his lack of communication while away. When Andy and Swarek track down the ex-con, Andy must convince him to let his past go. Even though they’re under fire, Andy and Swarek can’t deny that they make great partners – but those days are over, and Andy too is going to have to learn to let her past go.
