Ray Patterson

Ray Patterson was a well-known director who spent most of his entertainment career working on television programs. Early on, Patterson directed various television shows, such as "The Galaxy Goofups" (1978-79), "Casper and the Angels" (NBC, 1979-1980) and "Fonz and the Happy Days Gang" (ABC, 1980-82). He also appeared in "The Smurfs" (NBC, 1981-1990). He continued to work in film in the eighties, directing motion pictures like the Margot Kidder animated picture "Gobots: Battle of the Rock Lords" (1986). He continued to work in television in the eighties, directing programs like "Scooby's Mystery Funhouse" (1985-86), "Yogi's Treasure Hunt" (1985-86) and "Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians" (ABC, 1985-86). Patterson also directed the animated motion picture "Gobots: Battle of the Rock Lords" (1986) with Margot Kidder. Nearing the end of his career, Patterson directed "Fantastic Max" (1988-89) , "A Pup Named Scooby Doo" (1988-1993) , "Dark Water" (1990-91) , and "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures" (1990-92), Patterson last worked on "Adventures From the Book of Virtues" (PBS, 1996-2002). Patterson was nominated for an Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming One Hour or Less) Primetime Emmy Award for "A Flintstone Family Christmas" in 1994. Patterson passed away in December 2001 at the age of 90.
