Scott Nimerfro

Scott Nimerfro was a television writer and producer who got his start as a production assistant on the Steve Martin and John Candy film "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" (1987). After assisting on sets of films like "Scrooged" (1988) and "Lethal Weapon 2" (1989), Nimerfro began his work on HBO's horror anthology series "Tales from the Crypt" (HBO, 1986-99) writing and producing various episodes from 1990 until the show's end. He even appeared in an episode of the show, "Let the Punishment Fit the Crime," alongside Catherine O'Hara. During his time at "Tales from the Crypt," he also wrote an episode of "Star Trek: Voyager" (1995). Nimerfro moved back into film as an associate producer on Bryan Singer's landmark superhero film "X-Men" (2000). He contributed to another popular sci-fi TV series when he wrote the story for an episode of "Stargate: Atlantis" (Sci Fi, 2004-09) in 2007. Nimerfro began his collaboration with television writer, producer, and creator Bryan Fuller when he wrote for and produced "Pushing Daisies" (ABC, 2007-09) across the show's short run. After working on shows like "The Gates" (ABC, 2010) and "Ringer" (The CW, 2011-12), Nimerfro wrote a number of episodes for animated series "Tron: Uprising" (Disney XD, 2012-13). In 2013, he began working with Fuller again as a writer and producer for "Hannibal" (NBC, 2013-15), which he left in 2014 in order to write and produce ABC's hit fantasy series "Once Upon a Time" (ABC, 2011-). Nimerfro had his last credit (producer) on a March 6 episode of "Once Upon a Time," as he died on April 17, 2016 at age 54 from angiosarcoma.
