Waldemar Kobus

Waldemar Kobus is a Polish-born actor who predominantly works in Germany. After graduating from the Otto Falkenberg School for the Performing Arts in Munich, the actor performed with various theater groups in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart. Television work followed, and over the years he's landed acting gigs on the popular cop show "Tatort," where he's played a variety of characters; on the sitcom "Alles Atze," where he was a regular for three seasons; and on the crime show " Heiter bis tödlich - Nordisch herb." When it comes to movies, Kobus has appeared in a number of high-profile feature films, playing an S.S. officer in Paul Verhoeven's pulpy World War II thriller "Black Book," a German soldier in Spike Lee's war drama "The Miracle of St. Anna," which focused on the legendary Buffalo Soldiers as they fought their way through Italy, and a Gestapo chief in the Tom Cruise thriller "Valkyrie," about the attempted assassination of Hitler by members of the Nazi high command. Kobus also had a small role in the wildly stylized live-action "Speed Racer" movie, directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski. When not performing on stage or screen, the busy actor sings as part of the Cologne Carnival and devotes time to children's charities.
