Jumping back in time to the here and now, we find Miri (Lee Dae Hye) in Fukuoka’s red-light district, Nakasu, working as a bar hostess and drinking with lecherous men for money.

Miri’s meeting with Myung-hoon, where she flippantly makes the remark that it would hardly matter if she had graduated from Tokyo University—he’s clearly not just going to hire some stranger off the street.

Miri comments that Hee-joo’s always had good luck, such as being adopted well — if she hadn’t been sick that day, it would’ve been Hee-joo who would’ve been adopted to Japan.

News of diploma forgery breaks, and people are being arrested for selling their diplomas to black-market operations. Hee-joo gets arrested for having her diploma found amongst the originals copied.

Myung-hoon heads back to his office to await the diploma confirmation faxes, where sure enough, the latest one comes in from Tokyo University stating that they were unable to confirm Miri’s graduation.

The final side of the love square is formed, and almost instantly, Miri finds out how difficult it is to juggle all the lies in her life.
