S1, E3: Escalation of Nuclear Missiles globally. Brezhnev Invades Czechoslovakia in 1968 while the proxy East v West war in Vietnam came to an end. The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 create trouble back home with the families seeing their sons dying in this senseless war. The end was in sight. With this new era came Gorbachev and his many bold statements, that led, withdrawal from Afghanistan and collapse of communism. The symbolic Berlin Wall comes down in 1989 with the end of the Soviet Union formally declared in August 1991.
