From Time to Time

It is 1944 and thirteen year-old Tolly Oldknow (Alex Etel) is sent to spend Christmas with his grandmother (the legendary Oscar winner Maggie Smith), whilst his mother searches for news of his father in wartime London. In the old house, Tolly becomes a witness to events during the Napoleonic wars and finds himself slowly drawn into participating in the drama. Invisible to most people in the past, yet able to move amongst them, he begins to unravel the mystery which has bewildered his family for two centuries. The solution to the puzzle leads him into his greatest adventure yet. From Time to Time is based on the 1954 classic novel The Chimneys of Green Knowe by Lucy M. Boston. Directed by Julian Fellowes (writer of Downton Abbey and who won an Oscar for writing Gosford Park), it also stars Timothy Spall (Harry Potter, Secrets and Lies) and Dominic West (The Wire, Chicago) this compelling family drama is not to be missed.
