Suddenly

Lasse lives with his wife and their two sons in a comfortable middle-class home. However when the family sets out on a car journey to visit the grandparents, an accident results in the death of Lasse's wife and youngest son. Overcome with grief and guilt, Lasse struggles to contain his sorrow, finally attempting to take his own life, despite the pressing needs of his surviving son, Jonas. Shaken by his own selfishness, Lasse takes Jonas to their summer house by the sea. In the small seaside community, comforted by sunshine and romantic possibilities, Lasse and Jonas are finally able to confront their overwhelming heartache and forge ahead with their lives.
