An elimination pressure test to recreate a cake recipe by Andy Bowdy will farewell another contestant.

The judges welcome a fresh batch of home cooks to tackle creative cooking challenges in order to win a spot in the Masterchef Australia 2017 competition.

The participants must create a savoury meal in one hour, including the element of fire. Meanwhile, the two contestants who come last in the competition partake in a cooking challenge to escape elimination.

Eliminated contestants are given a second chance to get back into the competition. Only one of the 12 can secure their way back into the MasterChef kitchen.

The bottom three competitiors after the invention test face off in an elimination, where they must remake a tricky ice-cream float with a helium-filled toffee balloon.

The contestants participate in a relay challenge after they are split into teams of four. Challengers each have 15 minutes to cook, and just 45 seconds to pass their dish on to their team-mate.
