Colton Dunn

Comedy writer and actor Colton Dunn was still in middle school when he first realized he was destined for a career in entertainment. He was appearing in a production of "Aesop's Fables: A Musical Circus" at St. Paul's SteppingStone Theatre when it occurred to him that he could see himself doing this for years to come. After a year at the University of Minnesota and some practice at the ComedySportz improv club and at Boom Chicago, Dunn relocated to New York City in 1998. By 2004, he would relocate to Los Angeles, where he began writing for the series "MADtv" (Fox, 1995-2009) in 2006. By 2010, he was writing for "Pretend Time" (Comedy Central, 2010-), the sketch comedy show of his Minneapolis friend, Nick Swardson. Dunn also began appearing as Brett, the checked-out animal control worker on "Parks and Recreation" (NBC, 2009-2015). In 2012, Dunn began writing, co-producing, and appearing on the sketch comedy series "Key and Peele" (Comedy Central, 2012-15), which was nominated for two Emmy Awards. In addition to appearing in several CollegeHumor web videos, Dunn also began writing, appearing on, and producing the web series "Rooster Teeth: Entertainment System Originals" (2015-) in 2015. That same year, he also appeared in the film "Lazer Team" (2015), and joined the cast of the ensemble comedy "Superstore" (NBC, 2015-), playing a retail employee.
