The cooks are split into teams for a tricky challenge that will test their ability to work together, as they try to create an edible art installation in under seven hours.

The remaining contestants tackle the deciding feed-the-public challenge in the heart of Shinjuku. The team that keeps their cool in the busy alleyway will remain, while the losing team will face elimination.

Contestants without aprons face an invention test from guest judge Maggie Beer to win a place in the competition.

The remaining eight contestants return to the Australian kitchen, where they must compete to gain an advantage. They have an hour to create a dish from four mystery ingredients in a welcoming invention test.

Contestants must team up and create a three-course menu for 100 people in a pop-up restaurant challenge; 2016's runner-up Matt Sinclair guest stars to mentor the contestants.
