Karrell Williams was a prominent ballet dancer turned actor who made his acting debut on the dance-themed miniseries "Flesh and Bone" (Starz, 2015) in November of 2015. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Williams took a rather unlikely path to acting stardom. Having an early desire to perform, Williams channeled his natural athleticism into dance. He started taking dance classes while still in his teens and was quickly recognized for his innate prowess for the form. Williams was such an accomplished dancer that by the age of 18 he was accepted into the dance program at Juilliard in New York City. It was there that Williams honed his natural abilities, while becoming one of the standout performers in his class. After graduating from Juilliard with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree, Williams continued honing his craft at such prized institutions as the American Ballet Theater and the Dance Theater of Harlem, among various others. Before long Williams was a featured dancer in ballet productions throughout New York City, as well as the world. His work eventually caught the eye of a Hollywood casting agent, who was looking for actual ballet dancers to star in a new dance-themed miniseries on the Starz network. When auditioning for the role, the agent was floored by the fact that in addition to his expertise as a dancer, Williams also knew how to act. From there he was quickly plucked from obscurity to star as Trey in "Flesh and Bone." The series, which follows professional ballet dancers in New York City, debuted on the network in November 2015.
