Barry becomes used to his new identity and participates in the life of the village. Amira arranges for Jamal to meet a war hero, and Ihab and Samira's plans to flee are thwarted.

Barry discovers that his hold over Abbudin is tenuous. Sammy embarks on a risky relationship, Ihab's desire for revenge is given an outlet and Fauzi returns to Abbudin and is thrust into a political role.

Jamal now sets his sights on the East, to make Abbudin a global power. Barry continues to be a thorn in Jamal's side, becoming a symbol of freedom for the increasingly vocal insurgency.

With Jamal's life in danger and Abbudin on the verge of plunging into chaos, Barry steps forward as interim president and sets the stage for democratic elections.
