Paul Thornley

Paul Thornley began to make a name for himself on screen in the 2003 made for (British) TV movie "Alibi" (ITV, 2003) playing the lead investigator of a murder in the movie written by Paul Abbott. In 2004 he had a series regular role on the drama series "Life Begins" (ITV, 2004-06). After that series ended, Thornley played a number of guest roles on series such as "Foyle's War" (ITV, 2002-2015) and "The Bill"(ITV, 1984-2010). Thornley also continued to work on the London stage, playing George Bailey in the New Wolsey Theater's 2009 production of "It's A Wonderful Life," and "Chorus of Disapproval" directed by renowned theater director Trevor Nunn. In 2013, he appeared in the National Theater production of "London Road." The musical was a look at a series of murders with the song lyrics composed entirely from actual interviews about the killings. Thornley was also in the big-screen adaptation of the play, starring Olivia Colman and Tom Hardy. In 2015, it was announced that Thornley would play Ron Weasley in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child." The play, based on a story by JK Rowling (with the playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany), follows Harry, Hermione, and Ron as adults. Thornley was also set to appear in the Sacha Baron Cohen film "Grimsby" (2016).
