When Mulder and Scully investigate a possible UFO crash site, Mulder is arrested and meets a man in jail obsessed with UFOs. When Mulder is released, he goes back to the crash site to see if there was a government cover-up operation.

While trying to understand a series of killings that mimic those committed by an Immortal, 'The Scalper', in the 1940s, Duncan is forced to relive the past.

Scully tries to protect a girl from the men responsible for her parents' deaths, and Mulder is drawn into a deadly confrontation while probing the girl's origin.

A woman vows to seek revenge on Duncan, believing her lover to have been killed by him. She is unaware, however, that she is being used as part of a plot to lure Duncan into a trap.
