Expedition Africa

The team members struggle during the first leg of their journey, logging only 10 miles due to organizational problems and personality conflicts; as they learn more about Stanley's expedition, the explorers realise how hard the trek will be.

The team members reconsider how much gear they are carrying when faced with a difficult mountain crossing; an explorer collapses; the team reaches the oldest forest in Africa, resupplies at a village and joins in a local celebration.

Water becomes a critical issue for the explorers as they cross the baking hot and dry Mkata Plain; illnesses seem to be afflicting everyone; two members of the team appear to be headed for a showdown.
