Capitu Machado and Juca Pirama try to solve a case involving ritual murders based on Tarot cards.

After being assaulted by an enigmatic figure, Juca returns to the hostel and meets Capitu and his research partners. Meanwhile, a second death is reported, inspired by the lovers tarot card.

Capitu and Benignus wake up in a shed where the murderer orders their death. At the other end of the village, Juca and Vitória investigate the third murder: two bodies found near the abandoned locomotive.

In search of clues, the heroes discuss the case and hold a conference with the fearsome Dr Louison. Meanwhile, the story of the sect dedicated to Pamu the Venerable is revealed.

Bento and Capitu talk to Aurélia Camargo, who perhaps knows more than he is revealing. In the company of Father Eugênio Guimarães, Sérgio visits the crime scene where an entire family was killed.

Bento pressures Aurélia to reveal what she knows, but Capitu tries to dissuade his wife from a possible escape. Meanwhile, Vitória and Juca try to escape from prison.
