Police officer Daigo Agawa is posted to a mountain village where a series of alarming events makes him realise that there is something deeply wrong with the village and those who live there.

Daigo inspects the corpse of a supposed victim of a bear attack but finds something troubling.

Attack
Daigo, Yuki, and Mashiro come across the funeral procession of Gin Goto. Keisuke Goto, the next head of the family, realises that there is an intruder among them. The intruder accuses the Gotos of murder, but no one takes him seriously.
EPISODE 3
Fatal Bullet
Unconscious, Daigo dreams about the incident that led to Mashiro losing the ability to speak and the family's arrival at Kuge Village. He wakes up in a hospital bed after being attacked.
EPISODE 4
Line of Sight
Kano's remains are found in the mountains. A confession is made but further shrouds the truth. The station chief tells Daigo not to pry any longer. Daigo and Yuki are torn on whether they should tell the truth.

Trace
Daigo is introduced to Utada, who sheds more light on Kano's death and the Kuge Village.
EPISODE 6
Premonition
Daigo discovers that Gin Goto suffered from symptoms similar to kuru disease before her death.
