Alex Mallari Jr.

Before he began his career as an actor, Philippines-born and Canadian-bred Alex Mallari Jr. was a martial artist, competing in Tae Kwan Do at the national level. He eventually abandoned the discipline, hoping to pursue a career in basketball, but had to reassess when an injury thwarted his chances of ever playing professionally. Mallari made his acting debut in 2009, in a segment of a TV documentary, followed by a guest role on an episode of Steven Seagal vehicle "True Justice" (Reelz, 2012-13). Mallari made his film debut as a dancer in "A Dance for Grace" (2010). Mallari continued to work in television and on the web, earning small guest roles in series like "Nikita" (CW, 2010-13), 'Cybergeddon" (Yahoo, 2012), and Canadian young adult series "The L.A. Complex" (CTV 2012). Mallari also appeared in a number of feature films including "Debug" (2014), the rebooted "Robocop" (2014) and "Pay the Ghost" (2015). In 2015 Mallari played the role of Ryo Tetsuto or "Four" in the science fiction series "Dark Matter" (SyFy 2015-). The series features a group of six travelers who awaken on a spaceship and are forced to figure out where they are and how to survive.
