Max and Caroline can't figure out how to use the new cappuccino maker they have bought for their cupcake business, so they decide to take temporary side jobs at a local coffee house in order to learn the ways of the mystifying machine.

Romance is in the air as Caroline enjoys an incredible make-out session with Max's pastry school teacher, Chef Nicholas. All is going blissfully well, until Caroline finds out something that makes her wish that ''the kiss'' had never happened.

When Caroline's date doesn't show up after promising to take her to one of the city's hippest new restaurants, she and Max decide to take advantage of the ''hard to get'' reservation.
