Detective Kelly (David Caruso) risks his career and life by testifying on behalf of Detective Licalsi (Amy Brenneman) in her double homicide trial.

Sipowicz and Sorenson stay out of the squad room in order to avoid the new lieutenant. While supposedly researching an old case, they discover the body of a young girl, burnt beyond recognition.

McDowell and Ortiz start investigating the rape of a woman in her home. The victim's husband says that he saw his cousin escaping out their window and they should be looking for him.

A schoolgirl is found abused and strangled. Russell, Medavoy and Jones interview friends and teachers, and find evidence that she was previously assaulted.

McDowell crosses the line with the daughter she gave up for adoption; two young men are found dead in a gang hangout; a woman is found buried in concrete.

Vehicles in the precinct's parking lot are broken into, including Clark Jr's, and since he was just thrown out of his father's home, it contained all his possessions, including his detective shield.
