Joel David Moore

After getting his start in nationally aired commercials, actor Joel Moore made the successful move into TV series and features in leading roles, as well as supporting parts in higher-profile pictures, such as the box-office-dominating "Avatar." Moore acted in the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival for a couple of years before moving to Los Angeles in 2000. He soon found guest spots and recurring parts on TV series, leading up to a role in the Ben Stiller-Vince Vaughn comedy "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," where Moore used his lanky frame to comic effect. In addition to further proving his comedy chops by playing a video game creator in "Grandma's Boy," he showed his serious side as a man trying to escape an ax-wielding murderer in the New Orleans swamp in "Hatchet," directed by Adam Green. Moore shared directing and writing duties with Green on the subsequent thriller "Spiral," also playing the distraught telemarketer lead. Moore has appeared in recurring roles on popular TV series including the supernatural "Medium" and the medical drama "Bones." In the record-setting James Cameron sci-fi fantasy, "Avatar," he played an explorer alongside lead actor Sam Worthington. Moore also co-starred in the comedic music video for Katy Perry's "Waking Up in Vegas."
