Wolf researcher Emma Salomonsen discovers that her father, researcher Marius Stenhammar, has gone mad and stopped doing his job.

Marius Stenhammar disappears, and Emma desperately tries to find him; Emma's boss, Jo Ås, orders her to hand over the bloodied coat to the police, but she decides to postpone the handover until she has spoken with Marius.

Emma chooses not to tell Leo what happened to her grandfather; it is confirmed that the blood on the coat belongs to Daniel, and that the fur comes from the alpha male.

A fisherman finds a relic of Daniel in the river; Emma discovers that Leo has disappeared, and for the first time, she truly doubts whether there is a malevolent wolf near the village.

Emma and Leo are on their way back to Oslo when Emma gets one last idea that can help solve the case; a wolf caught on a wildlife camera makes Emma very suspicious.

Emma and Asbjørn Kolomoen are on their way across the border to Sweden; at the same time, Emma receives a text message from Naim.
