Shrewd prosecutor Adam Gołąbek is trying to catch and arrest the number one crown witness in Poland. Blacha manages to stay ahead of his moves.

After Kowal's death, Blacha becomes the prime suspect. Some of the evidence points to him, but he has an alibi, as do other old Pruszków men.

Blacha is arrested for the murder of Kowal. Prosecutor Gołąbek is convinced of his guilt.

Blacha believes that the murderer is Mnich. Looking for a way to confirm this, Sikora goes to his old friend, the surveillance expert, Ucho.

Gołąbek is convinced that Mnich isn't behind the murders of the former gangsters. Lato tracks down the truck that drove Blacha and Kaśka off the road.
