Shani Wallis

The seasoned actress and singer most notable for playing Nancy in the 1968 film adaptation of "Oliver!," Shani Wallis has been performing since she was four years old. She studied at England's prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and started nabbing lead roles in broadway plays throughout London. Wallis made her jump into motion pictures in the 1950s by getting small parts on British movies. Her first major production was a role in Charlie Chaplin's communist satire "A King in New York" in 1957. Her passion for the stage never diminished and Wallis was cast along with a group of unknowns in the blockbuster musical hit "Oliver! ." The Laurel Awards nominated her with a Golden Laurel for Best Female New Face the following year. Wallis widened her repertoire and appeared in diverse television shows, such as the fantasy mystery series "Rod Serling's Night Gallery" and the classic action sensation "Charlie's Angels." Wallis also lent her delightful British accent to the Disney animated family adventure "The Great Mouse Detective" and narrated the animated musical "The Pebble and the Penguin." Wallis made the move to the United States and settled into her new home by scoring a recurring role in the daytime soap opera "The Young and the Restless."
