S1, E1: Just two years before the 1978 World Cup, Argentina does not meet the minimum requirements to host an event of such magnitude. Nevertheless, the violent dictatorship ruling the country decides to turn the sport tournament into a national crusade. Aiming to legitimize their power, crush armed resistance, and silence international accusations against them, the military funnels an unprecedented number of resources to prepare the country for the event. Meanwhile, a young coach with leftist ideas accepts the challenge of transforming the national team into a true contender for the world championship.
