Arin Hanson

Known online by his pseudonym Egoraptor, Arin Hanson was an internet personality, animator, comedian, voice actor and rapper. Hanson was raised in West Palm Beach Florida. After dropping out of school prior to his junior year, Hanson relocated to Los Angeles to attempt a career as a voice actor. Hanson joined entertainment website Newgrounds as a user in 2001, where he submitted his first animation project, and began to upload several additional comedic animated web-series, related to video gaming and video game culture. Hanson's first project "Metal Gear Awesome" was so successful that MTV offered Hanson the opportunity to produce shorts for their own online video game show, "The G-Hole." As a voice actor, Hanson appeared in a variety of video games including Detective Grimoire, Mingore, and the remake of Death Rally. In 2012 Hanson and Jon Jafari, another creator in the field, joined forces to create their own webseries discussing and critiquing videogames. The show "Game Grumps" became wildly popular and ran for a year before Jafari left to be replaced by Dan Avidan. The show continued to be popular and the pair hosted live events throughout the United States. Hanson's voice provided narration for another webseries "Did You Know Gaming?" about video game trivia. In 2013 Hanson formed the band Starbomb with Daniel Avidan and Brian Wecht.
