Chelah Horsdal

A Canadian model-turned-actress, Chelah Horsdal has appeared mainly in guest-starring roles on TV and in small feature-film parts. The daughter of popular Canadian folksinger Valdy, Horsdal modeled as a teenager and made her TV debut in the little-seen show "Hat Squad" in 1993. She then decided to learn her craft and began studying at the Lyric School of Acting. Her next role came in 2000 on the sci-fi show"Mysterious Ways," a genre she would return to often. She made an appearance in the Gene Rodenberry outer-space adventure "Andromeda" and the fantasy drama "Stephen King's Dead Zone" in 2004. She continued working in Canada, appearing in the critically acclaimed drama "Da Vinci's Inquest" and the police drama "Cold Squad," set in her native city of Vancouver. Her first film role was in the Ben Affleck/Uma Thurman sci-fi thriller "Paycheck" in 2003, playing a young mother. Subsequent roles include a supporting part in the Christian Slater thriller "Pursued" and a bit part in "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," a horror film from 2005. Her highest-profile film project was the sequel "X-Men: The Last Stand," where she had a small role as a mother in a minivan. Horsdal's most significant work remains on TV, however, where she made multiple appearances on the drama "The L Word," and had roles on "Stargate SG-1"--as Lt. Womack--and the cult hit "Battlestar Galactica."
