DS Rose and his colleagues, newly promoted DI Baxter and young American ingenue, DC Edmunds are called to a grim discovery in a block of flats. Rose sets out on a secret investigation to find the killer before it's too late.

With the killer proving unstoppable, the team desperately hunt down the second victim on the list. Rose starts his own investigation and his actions cause concern for Edmunds.

Rose's behaviour raises questions for Edmunds. With the killer one step ahead, Baxter's plans go awry and they are forced to watch the killer's horrific plans play out.

Rose and Baxter attempt to outwit the killer with an unorthodox plan. Edmund's past catches up with her as she investigates Rose. The team finally get a lead on the Ragdoll Killer.

Rose and the killer circle one another. Baxter goes back to basics to track down the killer while Edmunds' piqued suspicions put her on the right path but also land her in danger.

Rose is forced to confront his choices as Baxter tries to help him choose a path of redemption. Baxter and Edmunds are faced with a difficult decision as Rose's name becomes that last one left on the kill list. Edmund's dark past is revealed.
