Kyoichiro is enjoying his first day in the capital with delicious senbei crackers when suddenly, he hears the cry of a dead soul.

Ise Kaoru and Kahoru are twin brothers in the Japanese army's reserve corps who awaken to discover that they've gotten cuter, as has their captain, Tatebayashi Kai.

Shigure fights hard against Tatebayashi's squad, but he's pushed back by the Ise Brothers, who can manipulate the souls of the dead.

Kyoichiro walks the path of the root with Misaki and Shigure, and the three of them encounter Omi, a member of the Five Katana.

Tatebayashi and Senge square off in one of the Imperial Army's meeting rooms; Kyoichiro stumbles upon a few soldiers recovering a soul of the dead.
