Wisting

On an idyllic summer evening, six-year-old Clifford Greenwood disappears from the hotel that his grandfather owns; the next morning, an employee is found brutally murdered; Detective William Wisting believes the boy was kidnapped.

A ransom demand arrives for Clifford, bearing a very cryptic message that suggests he's been taken as part of a revenge plot; Line discovers that her ex, Tommy, has been hanging around with a very bad crew.

Wisting is still without a good lead in the kidnapping case and is under pressure to produce results; a surveillance plan results in a chase with devastating consequences; Clifford's parents, awaiting contact from his kidnapper, follow a lead.

A manhunt begins, but it is a race against time; with Clifford's father, Andrew, having also fallen into the clutches of the kidnappers, Wisting needs to untangle the mysteries of the past to try and bring the boy and his father back to safety.

While recovering from a severe injury, Wisting receives an anonymous letter in the mail; the cryptic content leads Wisting to suspect a possible injustice in an old murder case where a 17-year-old girl was killed, and her ex-boyfriend was convicted.

A new anonymous letter leads to fresh evidence, but not everyone is happy to see the old murder case back in the spotlight; Wisting realizes he is being opposed by powerful forces within the police, as he keeps searching for the secret messenger.
