A series of murders in Manhattan seems random at first, then the police fear that a serial killer may be copying the crimes of another decades earlier.

Henry, the hotel's carriage driver, is being forced to retire and his horse Tippy is being sold to a dealer. Zack and Cody rescue Tippy and hide him in the hotel, but he escapes and causes havoc.

With Henry back in her life, Betty finds herself distracted by yet another man. This time it's Gio, Mode's new sandwich guy, who both annoys and intrigues her. Meanwhile, the staff prepare for the social event of the season - the Meades' Black and White Ball - as Wilhelmina plots to get her wedding back on track, and Amanda prepares to make her first official appearance as Fey Sommers' illegitimate daughter.

Though Lorelai is excited about going to a Bangles concert, she offers the four concert tickets to Rory and three of her new schoolmates.
