Stefan arrives back in Mystic Falls looking for Enzo. At the lake, Enzo's actions cause Matt to make a startling revelation, and Jeremy makes a discovery about the anti-magic spell. Elsewhere, Damon and Bonnie stumble upon clues that make them believe they're not alone.

Things begin to get weird as Van and Earn run into some trouble with neighbouring communities. They discover that people living outside the city act quite differently than people living inside the city.

A rumour circulates that Paper Boi might be making another appearance at a pyjama party. As the possibility arises to strike and make a move, the boys devise a plan.
