Mélanie Thierry

A stunningly attractive French actress who started out as a young model, Mélanie Thierry is renowned in her homeland as a leading lady, but has also branched out to international productions. After landing minor television parts while in her early teens, she won a memorable supporting role in Giuseppe Tornatore's expansive period drama "The Legend of 1900" (1998), starring Tim Roth, and continued to appear in high-profile fare with her turn as a royal mistress in the BBC miniseries "Charles II: The Power and the Passion" (2003). Gaining more attention both in France and abroad, Thierry had a major part in the dystopian sci-fi movie "Babylon A.D." (2008), a French/American co-production featuring Vin Diesel, along with various Gallic acting luminaries. Before long she graduated to top billing, playing the title character in the French period romance "The Princess of Montpensier" (2010). Thierry's winning streak continued when she was cast in Terry Gilliam's highly anticipated sci-fi film "The Zero Theorem" (2013), featuring Christoph Waltz and Matt Damon.
