Major Zod releases a virus into Metropolis that turns people into zombies and the only way of halting it is to take the blood of a Kryptonite. Lois becomes infected and Chloe asks Clark to donate his blood to put an end to the epidemic but if he does this, Clark will run the risk of making himself known to Zod. Will Clark give blood to save Lois?

Clark tells Jor-El he's ready to begin his training but Jor-El orders him to go back to Metropolis and sever his relationship with Lois. Meanwhile, Chloe is surprised when Lois returns with no recollection of disappearing for a few weeks and Lois meets John, an opinionated new reporter on The Daily Planet.

Chloe returns and begs Clark to kill Davis, claiming he can no longer keep the beast under control. Tess has assembled a team of meteor freaks, including Plastique, to track down Davis so Clark can kill him. However, things get out of hand once Tess’ team discovers she is double-crossing them.
