Everyone is a suspect when a body is found murdered at a popular nightclub known as “The Lab.” In an unusual twist of storytelling, Brennan, Booth and the Jeffersonian team take on various roles outside their normal duties, including serving as the nightclub staff as well as local law enforcement. A slew of special guest stars, including Max Keenan (guest star O’Neal), Jared Booth (guest star Fehr) and the members of Mötley Crüe, pay a visit.
Brennan and Booth investigate a set of uniquely disfigured remains allegorizing biblical text. As they acquire more information about the victim, a former patient of Dr. Adam Copeland (guest star Joshua Malina) at Havenhurst Sanitarium, they are confronted with suspects who are hard to characterize as either good or evil. Meanwhile, Jeffersonian intern Arastoo Vaziri (guest star Pej Vahdat) reveals a secret about his past.
When a human body is found inside the strung up Otter mascot uniform of a rival school, Brennan and Booth investigate whether the body inside the costume was dead beforehand, or killed during a Middlesex University bonfire event. The body is identified as Jimmy “Beaver” Bouvier, a fraternity brother at Middlesex University. When Brennan and Booth question his fraternity brothers to gain information as to how he ended up in the rival school’s mascot uniform, they learn that Beaver had a money-making operation on the side and was making a killing of his own. Meanwhile, Booth offers to help his brother Jared (guest star Brendan Fehr) find a new job after being dishonorably discharged from the Navy for illegal activity he engaged in to save Booth’s life recently.
Brennan and Booth investigate human remains found at a neighborhood block party. Suburban politics and secret scandals give each neighbor in the cul-de-sac a motive, and Brennan, Booth and Sweets must sift through the drama in order to find their murder suspect. Meanwhile, Jeffersonian intern Arastoo comes clean about his background, and Booth’s son attempts to find him a girlfriend.
