Ryan Dorsey

Ryan Dorsey was an American actor who was best known for his recurring roles on shows like "Pitch" (Fox, 2016), "Justified" (FX, 2010-15), and "Ray Donovan" (Showtime, 2013-). Born and raised in a small coal mining town in the hills of West Virginia, Dorsey never grew up thinking that he could make a living as an actor. In fact, sports was his thing, and he spent the better part of his high school years excelling in football and basketball. Dorsey intended on continuing his athletic career in college, but a football injury sidelined any hopes he had of playing professionally. Dorsey's introduction to acting came later that year when, on a whim, he auditioned for a role in an Ayn Rand play being produced by his high school. Much to his surprise, Dorsey won the part, and immediately caught the acting bug soon after. He spent the next few years making movies with his buddies in his hometown, before deciding to pack his bags and move to New York City to start his acting career. Shortly after arriving Dorsey was accepted into the prestigious acting program at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. After a few years of honing his craft, Dorsey began landing small supporting roles on TV in the early 2010s, among them "Parks and Recreation" (NBC, 2009-15), "You're the Worst" (FXX, 2014-), and "Shameless" (Showtime, 2011-). Dorsey landed his first big break in 2015 when he joined the cast of FX's "Justified" on the show's sixth and final season. Dorsey played the character Earl on the series. After "Justified" ended its sixth season run, Dorsey continued landing parts on shows like "Pitch" and "Nashville" (ABC/CMT, 2012-), before nabbing his second big break in 2017 when he joined the cast of Showtime's "Ray Donovan." Dorsey played Dime Bag on the fifth season of the series, which premiered in August of 2017.
