Chip and Dale are chipmunks that start a detective agency, Rescue Rangers, with their friends. The gang deals with crimes that are 'too small' for the police to manage, and often fights two particular villains.

After the others criticize Dale's sloppiness, he accidentally falls into a city garbage truck while cleaning up. While trying to rescue him, all the Rangers end up on a garbage barge heading out to sea.
