Stuart Pritchard is a web designer who owns a house. Jessica, his attractive tenant, is a struggling actress. After learning Courtney, a pretty ingenue rehearsing with Jessica, will be going to the opening of a posh nightclub, Stuart manages to get on the guest list.

Stuart looks to win over Jessica's friends by commandeering a limo Wade hired to impress his estranged wife Marion, and picks up three very interested female tourists.

An encouraging first date with a yoga studio employee leaves Stuart unhinged. Upset when frenemy Amelia gets a major film role, Jessica demands Glenn, her agent/squeeze, score her an audition. Following a slip in the shower, Wade institutes an emergency-alert system.

After learning that gay clubs are frequented by straight women, Stuart ditches Wade, who was coming over for movie night, to tag along with Jessica to a gay club, who gets herself and Stuart invited to a dinner party of influential tastemakers and groundbreakers.

Stuart plans an epic pool party in hopes that Kimberly, a model, will attend. Jessica, meanwhile, mentors Heaven, a homeless 19-year-old.

Stuart tries to prove his manliness when construction workers invite him for a night out in Long Beach. Jessica gives Wade advice on how to win back Marion after 30 days without communication.
