Carol is experiencing important changes in her life; on the one hand, she has to deal with her mother marrying her new boyfriend; on the other, she starts dating someone for the first time in her life and begins to face unexpected situations.

Carol's life is turned upside down when her mother tells her she is marrying her boyfriend, who also has a teenage son. Roberta sleeps in her brother's record shop after a fight with her parents, but doesn't tell her best friend.
