Ismail Kadri, an upstanding policeman, is tasked with disrupting the criminal network formed by gangsters Haji and Pathan, who rule the Bombay mafia. However, his own son, Dara, aged 13, is already showing an aptitude for crime.

At home, Ismail tries to discipline Dara, who has a gift for lying and petty theft. Ismail's world collapses when a tragic twist of fate calls into question his honesty and integrity.

As Ismail struggles to make ends meet for his family, financial pressure begins to influence Dara's view of the world. When Ismail is pushed to the limit, Haji tightens his grip on him. Ismail is faced with a difficult choice.

Twelve years later, in 1977, Dara begins to use his quick wit and talent for conning people to make easy money. He provokes members of Pathan's gang. Soon the affair escalates into a bloody confrontation.

When Dara attempts to dethrone Haji, Pathan and Anna, the current kings of Bombay, a series of violent events leads to unexpected alliances and a monstrous wedding night.

Dara wants to avenge the murder of her best friend and sets off a territorial battle. This escalation of violence helps Inspector Malik's plans, but it brings the gangs' business to a standstill. Haji proposes a truce.
