Spot follows Leonard to school and pretends to be Scott Leadready II.

When assigned to write and recite essays about their pets, Spot tries to pass Mr Jolly off as his pet cat while Leonard writes about Pretty Boy. Spot and Leonard get competitive as they realize the best story will get published in a magazine.

Spot does well on the N.A.S.T.Y test and advances to the 5th grade but realizes it's more challenging than anticipated. After thinking Spot ran away, Mrs Helperman sets up an electric fence.

Leonard mentions to the cool kids what he knows about lip gloss, and one of them, Spot, tells Leslie. She puts some on, which causes a rumour to start that Leonard and Leslie kissed.

Scott masquerades as his mother for a parent-teacher conference.

Leonard's nervous to go to his first slumber party at Ian's house; Leonard struggles with bullies who make fun of his costume.
